Cool Bento Raw Lunch Boxes - challenge?

I was reading about Japanese oekaki (picture) Bento lunch boxes and thought they would be great for kids with raw foods........they could be the envy of their primary school I don't think they need to be quite as intricate as some of the pictures, I think the Japanese must have FAR more time than us Brits to put these things together, but things like alfafa sprouts for hair, dips in little tubs, and nori sheets cut up into shapes isn't all that difficult to put together...........to be honest I think raw foods lend themselves even better to this lunch box art!

This is a link to some very intricate ones!

These give some more ideas like the cauliflower sheep!!

VERY time consuming veggie modelling!

LOTS of tips on how to make speedy lunch boxes etc etc! (This woman is FAR too organised LOL)

This mum has simplified things but added Bento accessories

Just an amazing pic really!

Bento Challenge group on Flickr there's some clever ones on here!

Japan Centre stock some accessories but there are tons on Ebay.

So if anyone is brave enough, post your pics of your kids raw bento lunches on here.............aw go on cos my lads are way too old for this LOL

Some of these lunches look so beautiful how do they make these look so easy? I do not have any children but I might try to jazz up my lunches from now on and add more colourful raw foods in.

The bentos in Japan are amazing. I lived there for a while quite a long time ago. The mums get up very early in the morning to prepare these delicacies for their kids. We take out a packed lunch out with us - we home educate so I don't do school lunches but we go to a lot of local home ed activities with our lunch packed up. I'm always looking for new ideas to jazz them up - thanks.
