View Full Version : Broccoli and Satay Sauce

I've added this one just for the Satay sauce........I love satay!! I'd personally probably have it with cauliflower as I'm not a fan of raw broccoli :o And I should imagine you can sub the Tamari with Nama Shoyu??



300g broccoli florets
one inch of root ginger
two tablespoons of raw almond butter
one red chilli (medium hot)
one tablespoon of Tamari soy sauce - a non raw food ingredient
three Medjool dates
one large garlic clove
one third of a cup of water (80ml)

Alternative ingredients - Use raw honey or agave nectar instead of the dates

Wash the broccoli and leave to dry while you make the Satay sauce.
Chop the root ginger to avoid it snagging under the blender blades. The other ingredients should be fine.
Peel the garlic clove.
Remove the stones from the dates.
Put all the ingredients, apart from the broccoli, into the blender jug.
Blend on a high speed setting until well mixed.
Pour into a small dish.

Just thought I'd add that Ruth did a savoury cacao dip and broccoli at her party the other day that I thought worked really well together.

Made & ate the satay the other day, very nice
