Introduce mandatory labelling of food, drink, and medicines as non-vegetarian, vegetarian or vegan

We, the undersigned, call on HM Government to introduce a system of mandatory labelling which would require all foodstuffs, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and oral medications to be clearly and explicitly labelled as being either non-vegetarian, vegetarian, or vegan. Additionally, this labelling scheme would also require that people who avoid certain foods for religious reasons, or who have any other special dietary requirements, can always ascertain from the labelling whether or not a product is suitable for their consumption. The labelling scheme would also apply to food and drink served in restaurants.
