I thought I would start a thread on really fast things to grab and eat that are guaranteed to keep you full for ages!!

Number 1

Monkey Business , adapted from Michael Van Straten-Super Juice
2 apples
2 bananas
1 tablespoon peanut butter

blended with about a cup and a bit of water (really this serves 2)
great for killing cravings and leaving you feeling full for ages, Buying sugar free peanut butter is fine as the sugar in the fruit is more than enough.

Green Power
half Cucumber
3 sticks celery
1 teaspoon each of Spirulina, wheatgrass (powder) & combination powder like Sun Is Shining

Juice the greens then stir in the powders....Great first thing in the morning and very sustaining!!! believe it or not!!

Maca Magic
2 Oranges
1 dessert spoon Maca
1 Dessert spoon maple syrup

Blend in blender adding a little water if needed (volume rather than taste)

I am a great one for volume and recently qualitity and am really trying to appreciate the need for less volume when the quality is great...must work on shrinking the tummy!!!

Seeds
1 tblsp shelled hemp seeds
1 tblsp shelled sesame seeds
1 tblsp lucuma
1/2 inch ginger
1 dssp maca
water to volume you like about 1 1/2 cups

Real food

taking longer to make but does make a huge cake with more than enough to last several days raids on a fridge for all the family

No Name Cake
Base (will fill & up the sides of 7 inch loose bottomed cake tin
2 cups whole almonds
1 tblsp agave
6 dates
1/4 cup goji berries
1/4 cup coconut butter

Blend in a vita prep or similar, tip into (greased with coconut butter) tin and press out evenly

then make 3 seperate layers
Layer one
2 lemons juiced whole
1 cup lucuma
4 dates
sliver of ginger
and about 1/2 cup water
blend and set aside to set

Layer Two
Cup of Pecans
4 dates
vanilla pod (whole chop it roughly)
2 tblsp agave
water to turn into cream
blend and set aside to set

Layer Three
Cup Walnuts
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 bananas
blend

Spoon the set Layer One into base, then carefully spoon Layer Two then carefully get Layer Three to sit on the top.
Place in Fridge and once set (about 2-4 hours) push out of the tin onto a plate,

Ready to cut when needed...

Substitutes....mmmm...well you could change the Agave for Yacon, or more dates or even apricots that have been soaked.

Of Course this is
High Fat
High Sugar
High Protein
High in Calories

and Massively High In .................................................. ...

TASTE xxxx:first:

So no apologies there then xxxx

happy eating

Had to write, 'THANK YOU' for these ideas! x

Raw food is definitely the best fast and filling food.

thanX for that lil ole list
i will get my uncooking hat on (dp) (licking lips)

i have found when i eat raw & organic
i dont eat anywhere near as much volume.
even as i did on just organic.

my theory being raw, organic is more nutritious
and we are not being malnurished
as we would be on cooked pesticides :( xx

Sauces....probably the fastest way of livening up any dinner...
try some of these

Red hot Chilli
3 orange bell peppers
1 scotch bonnet chilli
1/2 cup cashews
1 dessert sp yacon syrup (agave or similar)
1 tsp smoked paprika (avail. waitrose & M&S)

wizzed til smooth, might need a few spoons of water to be nice & creamy

Avocado
3 avocados only peeled in the blender is good enough blend the stone
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp wasabi powder (avail all good spice stockists)
juice of half a lemon
1 dessert sp shoyu (raw soya sauce, if allergic to wheat use tamari as is wheat free)
2 tsp agave

again instuctions as for first one

walnut cream
cup walnuts (soaked if you remember)
1 dessert tamarind paste (widely available in supermarkets in funny isles)
half cup sesame seeds
1 tblsp toasted sesame oil (not raw but improves things no end!!)
2 tsp agave
pinch good salt

same method again

see a theme developing....

key to a great sauce is

flavour -- spicy, sweet, sour, bitter, salty (the primary flavour)
carrier -- nuts, seeds, fruit, veg, (the bulky bit)
enhancers - the little pinches of stuff, smoked, already made up, etc

very few of my recipes have more ingredients than those above, I stick to basic rules. If I feel the need to experiment with a variety or different dishes I make more than one, keeping to the same format.
If the dishes harmonise I will combine them and example of this is all the sauces above go really well together in a sushi roll using cauliflower chopped finely as the "rice", layering a bit and using the chilli one sparingly!

thank you for posting these. They were fab on our sushi yesterday. They have encouraged me to create sauces for my own meals.
