I quite like this book. Some of it is - admittedly - a bit basic ("recipes" for green salad or orange juice etc.!!!) but if you don't have a dehydrator and don't want to make anything complicated it is really useful. Lots of nice, everyday, simple dishes including nice cake/dessert ideas. Also good if you're the only person eating raw food in your house/you're living alone as the recipes don't make huge quantities. Not the most impressive book but still definitely recommended, especially if you're starting out.

It was the first raw 'cook' book I bought. I followed very few recipies exactly but it did give me lots of ideas. I liked it because, as you say, it suited me being on my own, I didn't have recipies making massive amounts. I also loved the fact that she stated clearly how long dishes could be kept in the fridge or freezer and she gave lots of basic info on soaking nuts etc. I agree, I don't think it'll teach you anything new if you already know what you're doing but fantastic for giving a newbie confidence.

This was my first raw recipe book too! I chose it because the recipes looked simple and require minimal equipment (no dehydrator), and cater for just one or two people. I was also impressed with the reviews on Amazon.
It’s set out in a clear and logical manner, with easy-to-follow recipes for every meal; from breakfasts, juices and smoothies, to lunches, dinners, soups, dips, salads and desserts. It also gives a wealth of information on all aspects of raw food preparation and equipment, and a helpful glossary. I particularly like the little notes the author has added to many of the recipes, giving tips, information, and serving suggestions. I feel this gives it a personal touch, and is great for the beginner.
The recipes themselves are quick and easy to make, and definitely delicious! My favourite is the Flourless Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. I made this for my (very conventional!) parents and they didn’t even realize it was raw!
I now have several raw recipe books, and am always finding new ideas on the internet, but I still love to use this book!
