:help: Does anyone have a foolproof recipe for hummous? I used to mmake it a lot with cooked chickpeas. Now I'm looking for a raw substitute and wondered what was the best way to go about it

I like the following that I made up
Soak & sprout chickpeas
I soak over night and use them as soon as a growth shows, I find them bitter if allowed to sprout more than this!
then use a couple of cups of chickpeas
a jar of tahini (i make my own using sesame seeds & olive oil blended until creamy)
3 (at least) cloves of garlic
2 lemons juice only
teaspoon pink salt, I use more if the chickpeas sprouted more
and water to get to right consistancy, sometimes a cup is about right

keeps a good few days in the fridge

Orange juice is a nice variation
and pink peppercorns are a nice taste xx

Thank you. I'll have a try at this. I think, reading, your post, that where I went wrong before was letting the chickpeas sprout too long, as they were a bit bitter. Thanks
