Help:fear: As I mentioned before, I've had a lot of gastric problems and millions of tests done. Both my consultant and GP are insisting I see the dietician because I've lost so much weight. I've been given an appointment on the 22nd Dec. I don't really want to go, especially as last time I saw the dieticians they got angry that i refused to take fortijuice (chemically flavoured, chemically coloured sugar water with some synthetic vitamins) but really do want to keep the GP on my side. Having M.E., the last thing I want is to be labelled unco-operative:(

My weight isn't falling anymore. I know it's a bit low (7st 10 @ 5'5") but I can live with that (I used to be 13st)

I've to keep a food diary for 3 days and log absolutely everything I eat and when. They flipped last time I did that and I wasn't raw or even vegan then just into healthy eating. They don't accept the food tests which showed an intolerance to all grains and got angry that I wouldn't agree to taking cakes, biscuits etc.

I dread trying to explain a raw diet to them :confused2: I think they'll have an absolute flaky about it. Any advice on how I handle this or what to tell them would be gratefully appreciated

I encountered severe problems with the "services!" over the feeding of my child, I was told I was starving him and we had several months of investigations by all manner of authorities....my crime....I breastfeed and am a raw vegan with bee products!

I have since armed myself with a copy of Evie's Kitchen (a childrens raw recipe book) the first half of the book is dedicated to nutrition and is very detailed and with science backing....
valuable for both ADULTS & CHILDREN
other sources of valuable information are
The Vegan Society
David Woolfe's books Sunfood Diet Sucess System
Dr Gabriel Cousens (all)
Hipprocates health institute (Florida) you can buy nutrition charts on line (amazon) covering all manner of Raw diets & health
Dr Brian Clement dir. of Hipprocates

may have spelt that one wrong!!!

Above all do not take pills nor their advice without first arming yourself to the back teeth...
Prove to them that you know your stuff and like with what happened to us...THEY will leave you alone!!!!

Thanks for this. I have Ann Wigmore's book about the Hippocrates diet and one of Davis Wolf's. I'd already worked out that the only thing my diet might possibly be deficient in is B12 (I'm not saying it is - I just don't know) but since I have pernicious aneamia, no intrinsic factor, I could eat as much B12 as I wanted and my body wouldn't absorb it, so I get injections of that every 8 weeks anyway.

I think I'll try to make a chart of all the other nutrients to show how I'm getting them. I've been hospitalised twice for the pain I was getting after eating, so I guess the bottom line is I can always argue 'How can you expect me to eat foods that make me ill?'

hi Kirsteen,re: vit B12, have you tried a sub-lingual formula (under the tongue)? i managed to get off of anti-depressants after switching to the sub-lingual vitamin b complex with b12.
i get mine from Holland and Barrett.
