after being diagnosed with diabetes - an incurable disease - in may 2006, i made it my mission to be absolutely sure that i didn't 'own' the disease and it didnt 'own' me.
i never used the words 'MY diabetes' or 'I HAVE diabetes' or 'I AM diabetic'

these phrases are really very powerful, I AM, MY and I HAVE

i 'knew' from very early on that i would one day NOT have diabetes anymore.

what? no longer have an incurable disease? impossible!

or was it??

for 3 years i plodded along, took care of my diet well enough and the doctors were pleased with my progress and management in general of the condition. i had no issues at all with it. it was just something i did each day, like putting on your shoes before leaving the house.

this year i started thinking about not having diabetes anymore, and thinking in wonder about these inspirational thoughts.

i was inspired to think about bringing the DNA from another part of myself that has no disease. i was to have a disease free body.
the key words here were (and still are) I HAVE a disease free body. i live in a body that is free of disease.

those thoughts opened up a whole chain of events.

my brother-in-law JB is a naturopathic practitioner, his clients go to him when conventional medicine can no longer help them. they are dying.
JB counsels them, makes a suggested list of supplements and dietry recommendations. weeks later these clients are back in his room reporting full recovery.

so i listened to JB tell about the alkaline diet and its impact on cancer in his clients.

i ordered my books from amazon and printed off a list of alkaline foods from the web. and began filling my fridge with green stuff!

5 weeks after beginning the alkaline diet my body no longer needed insulin.
at 17 weeks benchmark i have had blood tests showing me to be pretty normal.

am i cured ? i dont know. my body shows hardly any sign of the diabetes now, i still monitor my blood sugars regularly.
and i still think about having a disease free body.

what we THINK is what we ARE.

THOUGHT, IS

thinking about the power of the words we choose when we talk about our disease/illness can help us to overcome it.

*every day in every way i am getting better and better.
*i choose to have a healthy body
*i have a perfect body and perfect health

just remember our bodies are regenerating all of the time.
we have the power to manifest perfect health and defy old age.

i KNOW we do! :bouncy:

Exactly my feelings too Sharon. Our thoughts create our experience, consciously and sub-consciously, and on levels we are not aware of as yet. One day this will be taught in schools! As you say, it is a spiritual decision, a choice to take responsability; to take back our power to choose how we experience what comes up for us here.
We are not victims of the world we see, or the disease we are diagnosed with, and thinking that way not only keeps us stuck but further from the truth of our spiritual inheritance.
It is great to speak to others who are thinking this way too... it seems healthier than doing it privately! I too try to use the words 'doing,' or 'did,' and not have, got, my and am when talking about illness, emotion, feelings, decisions etc (althought I do choose to speak in normal language with some people who react to this, for it can be threatening for some.)
It just reminds me that (on some level) I have chosen to experience this, and that I am never a powerless victim of the world, but can choose to react as I wish in accordance with our deeper, limitless truth.
I join you in your quest for truth!
