I'd like to get a spiraliser but not sure which one to go for, we only have limited prep space in the kitchen, but I want one that is easy to use and doesn't waste much, Spirali (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lurch-010303-Spirali/dp/B00008WVUT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1250594092&sr=1-1) or Spiralo (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lurch-Spiralo/dp/B000VJ6KEU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1250594092&sr=1-2)

Vote for your fave in the poll, or let me know if you have a different one and where to get it, as looking on the internet we only have a limited choice in the UK :(

Pssst this is a private poll so nobody will see what you voted for and it will close in 3 days ;)

I have a Spirali but am ashamed to say I have never used it yet although I've had it for a few weeks. Will spur me on to use it tomorrow.xxx

I bought a Spirali from juiceland.....came today & broke today.....
I must say it looks nicer than the salladecco and it did half a courgette really nicely....
UKjuicers are sending replacement for tomorrow

I went for the upgraded blue one looked nicer than the standard, cost £35:(

Oh god that doesn't sound good!!!

That's two you've put me off :p I definitely don't want to get a Saladecco one that's for sure. Did the Spirali leave much at the end of the courgette??

Okay I've opened up the poll and now it won't ever close ;) So please vote for your favourite spiraliser.

Love the new gadget!
leaves odd mushroom shaped pieces of veg!!! but are easy enough to chop up & add to sadad. Very little wastage

very easy to use, very good suction pads on bottom, have done most the hard veg, the squashes etc
good results, only having the saladecco to compare to, I do think this is better...sorry DYW!!!

I have used both and I really prefer the Spiralo - the one where you push downwards to spiralise the veg as opposed to horizontally. I just find this one much easier to use plus no weird leftover mushroom shaped pieces of veg! Although I guess these could make an unusual dish of their own!

The Spiralo is really quick because you are pushing down - you can practically do it with your eyes closed. It''s so easy to clean - just a quick brush over and it's all done!

With the Spirali, I found that the plastic grip seems to end up hitting the blades at the end every single time (with soft veg anyway) and I had to leave a much bigger piece of veg on there, with the Spiralo this never happens - not sure why?! Maybe because it's more dome shaped.

That's all from me - I love my Spiralo!

Looking at the picture of the Spiralo I just realised why the plastic grip for the veg never hits the blades - there is a small metal prong that stops it when it gets close - ingenious!

Thanks for that Claire that's brilliant! And I think I've made my mind up to get the Spiralo. However I was on the Fresh Network last night getting some supplies and by accident ordered a Spirali  You're going to ask how on earth you could do that by accident when that's the only one they stock aren't you? :o Trust me it's easy when you've been in a car accident and had a brain injury!!!

Anyway, I just rang them this morning (very nice understanding lady dealt with me) and the lady I spoke to told me that they had many problems with the Spiralo breaking so they don't stock it anymore, and that they haven't had any returns so far on the Spirali.

But I think I still favour the Spiralo as there seems to be less wastage, and for me I think it would be easier to use. The Fresh Network lady did say that the Spiralo produced much finer noodles than the Spirali.

I have been the owner of no less than three different sorts of spiraliser.

The first was the boat-shaped one. Don't think it's available in the UK any more.

The second was the bell-shaped one. Sold by Detoxyourworld I think.

The third (AND VERY BEST!) is called a 'Turning Slicer'. It's green and sold by one of the juicing companies at around £60.

It's SO much better than the others that I'd highly recommend it.
